Inspection IQ is a free facility-inspection tool from GEM Supply Company. This page explains, in plain language, what information the app collects and what we do with it.
When you create an account we ask for your name, email address, organization, and city. When you perform inspections, the app stores your ratings, notes, photos, inspection dates, and — if you allow location access — the GPS coordinates where the inspection was performed. If you choose to receive text alerts, we store the mobile number you provide.
Text alerts are optional and off by default. You opt in by entering your mobile number in the app and checking the consent box. If you opt in, we send you a text when an inspection report has been emailed to you, and a reminder on the day a follow-up inspection you scheduled is due. Message frequency varies with your own use of the app — typically one or two texts per inspection you perform. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time; you can also turn alerts off inside the app.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with, or sold to, any third party under any circumstances. We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your mobile phone number to anyone for their marketing purposes. The only exception is sharing with subcontractors that support these services — such as our SMS delivery provider, which acts solely on our behalf to send the alerts described above — and with carriers as needed to deliver your messages.
Your inspection data exists to serve you: it builds your reports, your history, and your trend spreadsheets. GEM Supply may review inspection activity to improve the product, follow up when you request a call, and understand which training and supply recommendations are useful. We do not sell your personal information.
Full-resolution inspection photos are stored for 90 days, then reduced to thumbnails so your history stays complete. The PDF report emailed to you on the day of the inspection contains the full-resolution photos and is yours to keep.
Your data is stored with row-level security: every account's records are isolated so one customer can never read another customer's inspections.
